OUR PROCESS
At HB Builders, we believe that process and operations are key to setting up and managing a successful project. Our team has training and formal educations in Quantity Surveying, Project Management and Carpentry, so we are able to ensure the success of all facets of the project, from start to finish.
PARTNERSHIP
Any project, big or small, will only be as successful as the partnerships built between the homeowners, architect and designers, and the HB Builders team.
When reviewing potential projects, meeting on the site of the prospective project with all key partners is the best way to kick off a project, if of course, it is safe to do so. These initial meetings, wether on site or virtual, allow us to discuss the homeowner's goals and the architect or designer's vision with the use of details and drawings, where available. This allows us to understand the homeowner's goals and vision, enabling alignment with HB Builders, the homeowner and partners.
KICK-OFF
Once we move forward with a new project, we will begin Pre-Construction work. This includes:
Project Discovery: Conducting meetings and site visits with all project parties. This ensures we are clear on the project requirements and goals set by the homeowners, designers and architects.
Project Planning and Estimation: Once we receive final plans and specifications (or final-ish!) from our project partners, we will begin our estimation and project planning process. This includes identifying a project timeline, securing our team's resources, connecting with required trades, and identifying any permit requirements. This culminates in the presentation of a detailed project budget estimation to the homeowner.
CONSTRUCTION
During the construction phase of the project, ensuring that the project is running effectively and efficiently is our main goal. We focus on completing great work on site and rely on our team and team leads to do this. Additionally, we greatly value transparency for the homeowner, so that you can follow along as the work progresses. Using tools such as Buildertrend for project updates and TSheets for our team's timesheets, we are able to provide the homeowners with a clear line of visions of the project.
All invoices include details, receipts and time tracking so that all project related costs are clear.
CRAFTSMANSHIP
We have a talented team of carpenters, labourers and project operations that ensure that the final product meets our high standards or is ready to take steps for any necessary further work.
With our leads and HB Builders' owner, Hayden Bavin, providing quality assurance for our projects, we ensure that the final result aligns with the homeowner's project vision. Construction and renovations can bring many challenges, but we believe that through proper project planning, partnership and our skilled construction and carpentry teams, we can work together through any challenge a project might throw at us!
